When are the school summer holiday dates?
Summer holiday dates can vary by local area and from school to school, but most families can enjoy holidays throughout July and August!
In England and Wales, most schools break up on Friday the 17th of July 2026. The new school term starts on Tuesday the 1st of September, giving you 6 weeks of fun with your family.
In Scotland, the dates are slightly different. Most schools start their summer holidays a little earlier, breaking up on Friday the 26th of June.
We’d recommend checking your child’s school website or local council for more accurate term times. Some schools may choose to include a PD (INSET) day and return on the 2nd of September.
