Brand New Restaurant Now Open

As guests at Heather View, we have a fantastic new bar and restaurant right within the park. The Curious Grouse is the perfect place to enjoy a great meal without leaving the grounds, serving delicious, freshly-made dishes and a wide choice of drinks in a relaxed, pet-friendly setting.

It’s not just about the food, either. There’s a soft play area and an arcade games room to keep the little ones happy, plus regular music and entertainment nights that make evenings together even more special.

Everything’s designed with holidaymakers in mind. A welcoming space to relax, spend time with loved ones, and really make the most of our stay.

For walkers, Hamsterley Forest and High Force Waterfall offer fabulous routes with glorious scenery, and the whole family can enjoy exciting days out at local attractions like Beamish Museum or Auckland Castle.

On park, head to The Curious Grouse where you can grab a bite to eat, let imaginations run wild in the soft play area, or simply relax in the beer garden while you enjoy the serene riverside views.

From going wild in the soft play area to relaxing in the beer garden, there’s something for the whole family at The Curious Grouse. Newly renovated for 2026 with a fresh look and delicious new menu, it’s the perfect place to kick back and unwind. 

The Curious Grouse is open from 6th March 2026!

Little adventurers can embark on the Discovery Trail, using their navigation skills to explore the park, complete the games and activities, and learn more about the wildlife in the local area. Booklets are available from Reception. There is also a shop on-site, where you can pick up any essentials you may have forgotten.

Entertainment at Heather View

Heather View offers a relaxed, family-focused entertainment programme from April to November, with activities varying between peak (English school holidays) and off-peak periods.

During off-peak, Saturday evenings feature children’s entertainment followed by light live music and tribute acts, while Create & Make activities are available during opening hours. In peak periods, the programme becomes livelier with daytime workshops, weekly Showstopper family sessions, pop-up activities, and selected evening entertainment including Saturday live acts, Wednesday speciality performances, and laid-back acoustic Fridays, with bank holidays bringing an extra touch of celebration
